Update on Zunar’s trial

The court today has adjourned my trial to another date – on 7th July 2015, pending on a decision by Federal Court in a separate case on the constitutionally of the Sedition Act.

A law professor, Dr Azmi Sharom, who was charged under the Sedition Act has challenged the constitutionally of the Sedition Act 1948, arguing that it restricts freedom of speech. As for now, there is no date set by the Federal Court regarding the case.

In simple words, by 7th July, if there is no decision by the Federal Court on Azmi’s case, the court has to set another date for my case
